It's been over two months now since Matt Hardy debuted for AEW on the March 18 episode of Dynamite, and the wrestling legend has proven to be a tremendous fit for the new promotion.
Hardy teamed up with The Elite and Adam Page to defeat Chris Jericho and his Inner Circle in the main event - a stadium stampede bout - at Saturday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
It's been a nice change of scenery for Hardy, who was rarely featured on WWE programming during his final year with the company. Hardy and WWE were unable to come to terms on a new deal, leading to his departure in early March.
Like many other notable AEW talents who previously worked in WWE, Hardy has been vocal about his frustrations which led to his exit. Hardy recently called out WWE for sucking "the fun out of things."
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Hardy said WWE "squandered" the usage of him and brother Jeff following their unforgettable and thrilling returns at WrestleMania 33, where they became the new Raw Tag Team Champions.

The Hardy Boyz reunion ended in Sept. 2017 when Jeff suffered a shoulder injury that needed surgery, which kept him out of action for several months. Matt later introduced his 'Woken' gimmick and began a successful feud with Bray Wyatt.
Matt's new gimmick quickly won over the WWE Universe, but WWE never fully capitalized on it. He later teamed up with Wyatt, and they briefly held the Raw Tag Team Championships together. But for the most part, WWE made little use of the ultra-talented and beloved Hardy, which left him no choice but to exit following the expiration of his deal.
Hardy Made The Right Choice To Leave
Hardy has stated that WWE offered him plenty of money to stay, but that wasn't his main priority. He wisely decided to join AEW, knowing that they would make greater use of him. So far, so good. Hardy simply won't have any regrets about turning down WWE's offer.
